Josh has gone back to the North Pole, but on his last night here he broke into the kids' Christmas presents. Way to ruin the fun for Christmas Eve, Josh….

Nights 15 & 16

It must be getting close to Josh's departure. I've begun to forget to post his antics on this blog

Two nights ago Josh had a break and broke out his favorite movie of all time.

Last night, since he was well rested and ready to pull off some naughty elfisms, he broke into my paint markers and "improved" the kids' portraits.

Night 14--Crafty Josh

Josh broke into the crafting supplies last night. This time, making his own Christmas stocking to match the family's stockings. But, Josh, how do you reach the foot pedal??

No joke last night…I think he might be running out…

Night 13--Oops, he's stuck.

Josh had fun playing with the LEGOs last night. But, he built himself into a tight corner.

Night 11--Josh takes a break

The life of an elf must be tough. Well, he does have to travel thousands of miles back and forth from the North Pole to here every night. I guess he does need a break. This break consisted of a marshmallow bath, candles, and a chocolate milk martini. Aaaaah, the elfin life.

The Elf Lurks Again--Night 10

Josh is a tailor. Last night he made paper snowflake skirts for himself and many of his friends. It's a good look for you Josh.

The elf visits--Night 9

My good lipstick Josh???? Really? You couldn't have done this with the free stuff I got as a sample?? Yes, we know "you were here". But, my good lipstick?

Night 8--Josh wants us to eat our own faces?

I guess Josh has gotten into the candy making business. M&Ms with Hannah's & Asher's faces on them! They don't have a problem eating their own faces.

Why is it so cold at Christmas? Because it is Decembrrrr!

Night 7--Josh breaks into the office supplies

My walls are mocha. And Josh decided to wallpaper over that gorgeous, warm mocha with orange Post-it Notes. He tagged everything…the mantel, the walls, the tree, the book shelf, the t.v. And, the daily elf laugh:

Knock Knock. Who's There? Mary. Mary who? Mary Christmas.

Josh visits--Night 6

A very healthy elfish breakfast. Toast & Jam (darn you Josh for using my thimble for your jam pot!!!) and orange juice. Yum.

Josh's joke slipped under something so we couldn't see it immediately. But, then it magically appeared. Go figure.

Mustaches everywhere.

Josh showed up on the undecorated Christmas treat incognito this morning.  I guess he couldn't decide which mustache looked best because he brought several to choose from.

Josh visits--night 4

So…Josh is a swinger. He crafted his own elf swing out of a toilet paper roll. Ingenious.

Unfortunately he chose a very precarious spot for his swinging resting place--at the doorway to our mudroom and den. A doorway that we use all day long to get snow boots on, and to enter the den to play and practice piano.  Hannah brushed him with her head this morning, and since we take the "never touch Josh or he'll lose his magic" rule very seriously, she started her day very upset.

I'm hoping Santa forgives this one small discretion and maybe sends a note or some sort of sign.

Josh's visit--night 3

Oops.  He's stuck. Good thing this clock doesn't actually need a swinging pendulum to keep accurate time. I wonder if he thought he would be getting a carnival ride? Sorry Josh, even an elf is too heavy to keep this pendulum swinging.

Josh Arrives

Josh was a little late coming to our home this year. We were busy…busy…busy, with The Nutcracker (6 performances over 4 days) so he gave us our space for a while. After our last performance, and a record time loading the truck, we were finally home. Look what we found!

Professor Jinglepants is a Male Half Moon Betta fish that Josh somehow transported all the way to our home from the North Pole (Elfin magic…go figure.) This year Josh has decided to try his hand at comedy as well.

Josh believes that he has free reign of our home. On this night he helped himself to the color printer. We are all glad that he kept his pants on during these Elfin antics.
